Composing a Shot in Unity
Creating different cameras to compose a shot for the game
Objective: Use cinemachine to create some virtual cameras for the sleeping guard shot
In this part of the project I am going to create a virtual camera for the sleeping guard shot in the game. For this scene some previs were provided indicating how the camera have to be placed in the scene and the movement.
In order to create the camere I went to Cinemachine > Create virtual camera and rename the camera as “CM_OTS_shot” this is the camera that goes behind the main character.
Then in the editor I adjusted the view in the desired place for this camera and to change the camera position to the same position than the view I selected the camera in the hierarchy and pressed “Ctrl + Shift + F”.
Then I adjusted the camera a little bit, placing the characters to the right top corner. This detail is part of “The Rule of Thirds”, a filming technique that consists of placing the main character by one side and give more context of the scene.
After that I just followed the same steps to create the second camera.
And that’s it!!! Some virtual cameras for the shot.
